MembershipThe Alameda Naval Air Museum is a non-profit organization and is not sponsered by or affiliated with the U.S. Navy. It is staffed by volunteers, many of whom are former civilian employees, navy friends and veterans.Memberships and donations pay for utilities, collecting and preserving artifacts, building exhibits, and community outreach programs. As bases continue to close, many artifacts, papers, photographs and collections may disappear. The chance to preserve the Naval Aviation history of the San Francisco Bay Area is NOW!
Volunteers Needed! The Alameda Naval Air Museum staff wishes to preserve the legacy of the Air Station. To do so, we need volunteers! We need people to act as docents, escort visitors or serve as members of a work party. This is a six hour job for one day a month. There is no pay because we are non-profit.Former civilian and military employees who are retired can be of great help to us. Their knowledge of station history can contribute much to the enjoyment and the museum experience of our visitors. To contact us, call Marilyn York at 510-352-2750 and sign up. The museum is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Additional archive hours are available by appointment Wednesdays, noon to 4:00 PM.
