Capt. Duncan "Duke" Campbell, base commander NAS Alameda, with the widow of Admiral Chester Nimitz. Mrs. Nimitz attended the dedication of Nimitz Field in honor of her late husband at NAS Alameda in 1967. The dedication was held inside one of the hangars adjacent to the runway because of the inclement weather that day.
